The update: Andy, Laura, Luke, and Gabe

February 23
I am sitting in the office with Gabe while Luke is asleep. Today
has been a bit rough. Luke is recovering from a fever. Gabe
is trying to get on a sleep schedule, or I am trying to get him on one.
Luke only wants "Mommmmmmmy." So it has been impossible to
get the baby to sleep because Luke is always there, calling for me,
needing me, crying for me! Now is my chance to get the baby to
sleep as Luke is asleep; however, Gabe is WIDE awake. He will not
be put down. So we will make it through this day and hope that
tomorrow is a little bit better. I do know that Gabe does best
when he is only awake for a few hours and then sleeps; but, sometimes,
that doesn't work with everything going on around here. It will
work itself out . . . someday.
February 16
We are definitely surviving, with the help of friends in Hendersonville
and Asheville. Gabe is still not sleeping very well; however, we seem
to be doing well despite that. Luke is sleeping much better, in
general. I am very grateful for new and old friends, a new
church, and the support of family.
We aspire to leave the house each day, sometimes twice a day. We
usually head out around 10am for a visit to friends or the park.
Gabe usually falls asleep in his carseat and sleeps until 1pm
when Luke goes down for his nap. In the afternoon, around 3pm, we
either head out again, at which point Gabe falls asleep in his carseat
for an hour or so, or we have a quiet afternoon at home and try to get
something done, i.e. dinner made or house cleaned. If we stay
home, Gabe probably will not sleep because it usually takes a trip in
the car to get him snoring. So it is harder, sometimes, to stay
home because nothing really gets done, anyway. :)
I am looking forward to some sleep because my parents are coming for the week!!!
